Johnny Vatos "Boingo Dance Party” featuring former members of Oingo Boingo is a high-energy romp of some of the greatest music of the time:
Johnny Vatos on drums, along with a large powerful band that includes former members, Sam “Sluggo” Phipps on Sax, Carl Graves on vocals/keyboards, and Doug Legacy, who played on most of all the albums and toured for years in the band, on keyboards.

The band includes Chris Paul Overall on lead vocals, Mike the Spike on rhythm guitar/vocals, Freddy Hernandez on bass and Woody Aplanalp on lead guitar.
The ensemble also features the signature “Great Horn Section” with Brian Swartz on trumpet, Wendell Kelly on trombone and of course “Sluggo” on sax.

This non-stop set includes all the Boingo hits that keep the fans moving and coming back for more: Dead Man’s Party, Just Another Day, Little Girls, Stay, Only A Lad, No Spill Blood, just to name a few!
“I was there!” says Vatos! “When it comes to Oingo Boingo Music we are the best on the planet!” This not a “Civil War” reenactment, but living functioning High Energy JOHNNY VATOS spectacular! Fans new and old are having great times again at this “Boingo Dance Party”.
If you remember the band, if you’ve never seen the band, you will be moving to the beat of a Southern California “Party Institution”.

He gets calls to detune (Brian Wilson) and deconstruct pianos as well as repairing them. Doug does not condone burning or dowsing pianos! These were pianos that were already at the end of their life and are now being appreciated in another way.
Doug is also working on Ayin Aleph's harpsichord. Here's a video of her.

Southern California fans longing for that old Oingo Boingo Halloween experience can still get a taste of those epic late-’80s, early-’90s shows this fall when drummer John “Vatos” Hernandez rounds up some former bandmates for his annual “Dead Man’s Party” bash.

Ten years after Oingo Boingo’s farewell Halloween show in 1995, Johnny Vatos, the drummer for Oingo Boingo decided to revive the music of the group and came up with the “Johnny Vatos Tribute to Halloween” concert concept. Fellow Oingo Boingo band members John Avila (bass), Steve Bartek (lead guitar), Sam "Sluggo" Phipps (sax) and Doug Legacy (Keyboards) agreed to join Vatos in this venture. Frontman Danny Elfman reportedly ruled out reuniting with Boingo because of irreversible hearing loss.
The end result was a sold out performance at the Grove of Anaheim in October 2005.
Four years later, the show will make its triumphant return to the Grove.
