
Aaron Nichols trained in Cecchetti ballet technique with Katharyn Horne and Humphrey-Weidman modern technique under Mary Anne Mee in Charlotte, North Carolina where he danced with their company, Dance Central, from 1993 to 1998. While at Dance Central, he performed in ensemble works and advanced to soloist and principal roles. In Charlotte, Aaron also danced with North Carolina Dance Theatre in Opera Carolina’s production of Aida.
After moving to New York, Aaron has danced classic and contemporary works for New York Theatre Ballet, Julia Gleich Dances, Brooklyn Ballet, Staten Island Ballet, Claudia Jill-Stoltman & Dancers, and Annabella Gonzalez Dance Theatre.
His repertoire includes the Pas de Trois from Act 1 and Prince Siegfried from Act 2 of Swan Lake, the Peasant Pas de Deux from Giselle, Les Sylphides, the Cavalier in The Nutcracker, Jardin Aux Lilas (Lilac Garden) and Judgment of Paris by Antony Tudor, Katschei in The Firebird, Solor in La Bayadère, Carabosse and Puss-in-boots in The Sleeping Beauty, Charles Weidman's Christmas
Oratorio, Lynchtown from Atavisms, Brahms’ Waltzes , and the Wicked Step-Sister in Donald Mahler's Cinderella.
Aaron has also danced the contemporary works of: Toneta Akers-Toler, Ivan Baretto, Benjamin Briones, Ron Chisholm, Martha Connerton, Marty-Aaron Cooper, Danny Diamond, Thomas Enckell, Julia Gleich, Annabella Gonzalez, Richard Holden, Katharyn Horne, Claudia Jill-Stoltman, Donald Mahler, Mary Ann Mee, Keith Michael, Lynn Parkerson, Donna Rizzo, Ron Sequoio, George Skibine, James Sutton, Ellen Tharp, Georgia Tucker, Royce Zachary and Gerda Zimmerman.
In recent years, he has also become a choreographer creating works for Dance Central, New York Theatre Ballet, Youth Ballet Company, Staten Island Ballet and the New York Internatlonal Choreographers Festival.
Aaron has taught ballet for Brooklyn Ballet, Central Piedmont Community College and has also taught master classes.
