The 34th ARA Reunion in Philadelphia
The 34th ARA Reunion was held at the Sheraton Great Valley Hotel in Fraser, PA from 23 Sept to 26 Sept, 2009. Hosted by Ron and Peg German, it included visits to the Constitution Center, American Helicopter Museum, the QVC TV Studios and store, dinner and a tour at the Victory Brewing Co. on Thursday. Friday's schedule included visits to the Boeing Rotorcraft Plant in Morton, PA and a Taste of Philly luncheon featuring Philly cheese steaks and hoagies. Then we went to the Piasecki plant to view some of the old as well as the new in rotorcraft technology. Other planned activities kept all the attendees busy throughout the four days of the reunion. The recipient of the Richard T. Kight Award was T/SGT James E. Hangsleben, Jr., the non-commissioned officer in charge of the Personnel Recovery Branch, Special Operations Command Pacific (SOCPAC), Camp H. M. Smith, Hawaii.
