The activities we sponsor or recommend reflect our beliefs......
The mission of the Isis Ancient Cultures Society is to advance knowledge and awareness of the Sacred Feminine through the study and practice of spirituality associated with earth-based religion, metaphysics and ancient religions. We recognize the Sacred Feminine as a Creatrix of ALL, spanning countries, cultures, spiritualities and religions. Our work includes helping mid-wife the rebirth of Goddess in our lifetime and to develop a living and evolving tradition wherein the positive and life affirming aspects of multi-cultural faiths is honored. We seek to nourish the soul through the practice of ideals that perpetuate partnership, tolerance, compassion, integrity, truth, love and beauty. The Society has no particular religious affiliations but works hand in hand with individuals and groups within the community to foster these ideals.
The Society honors both Goddess and God and celebrates the wisdom and diversity of ancient religions and cultures. Nature is revered as are all creatures walking the earth, whether two or four legged or winged, whether from the land or the sea. We honor the inherent worth and dignity of every person and living thing. We promote justice, equality and compassion in human relations and seek to encourage spiritual and personal growth in supportive environments. We promote a free and responsible search for truth and meaning with a healthy respect for the interconnected web of existence of which we are all a part.
We seek to serve community in life-affirming, harmonious partnership with a goal toward renewing our spirits, working in harmony with the rhythms of nature and to celebrate the sacredness of life. We believe each of us embodies the Divine, with our ultimate spiritual authority being within us, therefore needing no other person to interpret or act as intermediary with the Divine. We hold the mundane to be sacred. We embrace diversity and encourage honesty, communication, wholism and tolerance.
The Society will interface and network with other like-minded groups within our local and greater community to share spirituality and resources. The Society will recycle it's resources and monies raised back to the work of the Society for the greater good of the Community in pursuit of our vision of a culture of partnership, justice, love and peace. The Society will affirm and promote all its ideals, including that of sisterhood and brotherhood through the sponsoring and organizing of offerings such as but not limited to spiritual and cultural classes, religious worship and rituals, self development salons, cultural celebrations, participation in community events, multi-media presentations and charity work.
The volunteers of The Isis Ancient Cultures Society are called Stars of Sothis.
The star of Isis, called Sirius or Sothis was of vital importance to ancient Egyptians because its rise marked the first day of their calendar year and the annual rising of the Nile which was paramount for the fertility of the land as a basis for life and wealth in Egypt. It held the key to the destiny of their world and to their own personal immortality. The Stars of Sothis are as important to The Isis Ancient Cultures Society as the constellation was to the ancient Egyptians because they share the ideals of the non-profit and assist the corporation in carrying out its vision.
In a potential Star of Sothis we look for qualities such as balance, integrity, dedication, reliability, discretion, wit, honesty, friendship, sister and brotherhood. We work in partnership and share leadership with the Stars of Sothis to further the work of the Divine through community oriented activities that raise awareness and in doing so invoke the Threefold Law for what we do for others will certainly come back to us in kind.
The seeds we plant today will be harvested tomorrow in a future of enlightenment, partnership and love. It is through the generosity of self we transform ourselves and our world.
