Elegant contemporary, 4300 SF of
heated space, 2 master bedrooms, 2 offices at home with separate entrances, art
studio, guests suite, shop, garage, 3 enclosed private gardens, acrylic stucco
finish on cement board, wide overhangs for solar energy management, no gutters
and much more!
- This house makes the most of a lake view out back!
- The entrance path surprises and inspires at every turn.
The fountain and the curved walls enclosing private gardens are some of the
highlights. Inside full barrel vaults, high ceilings, indirect lighting,
create a suitable space for antique oversize family furniture.
- Designed for empty nesters requiring a modest area for
their residence (1600 SF), featuring a spectacular living space and an eagle's
nest master bedroom upstairs. A guest suite (800 SF) features a second master
bedroom, a living room, a kitchenette, a laundry, and its own driveway and
carport. The owners have offices at home where they receive clients: One
office (400 SF) can share the living room of the guest suite if needed. The
other office (700 SF) includes a shop and darkroom. A two-car garage (500 SF)
finishes the main level. In the daylight basement, besides the usual
mechanical and storage areas, there is a fire vault, and a multipurpose room
(750 SF).
- Water source heat pumps provide unobtrusive comfort,
aided by the strong passive solar energy features.

In an article for the local
magazine Triad New Home Guide I explained the Palladian
inspiration.
