Remy (Apr 1, 2003 - Nov 18, 2010)

I was the third briard to join the family. My full name was "Enchanted Ultimate Remy" but I was knownsimply as Remy. In keeping with the french liquor theme I was named after Remy Martin Cognac.

When I first came to Austin Kir was my "big sister". She was great and I was really sad when she died. Then they brought home Cassie and while sometimes I loved playing with her she also drove me nuts trying to herd me so I had to put her in her place once in a while with a firm bark. While I started out as a bit of a wild boy I turned into a complete gentleman and was loved by everyone I met - big and small. I loved outings with my family to the farmers market, airport, pet food store, coffee house, etc. as everyone wanted to stop and pet me. But my favorite thing was the long walks with my family.

And yes, in the picture below, that is snow in Austin - it was fun for the morning but gone by the afternoon. Also after 7 years I got the chance to meet up again with my breeder Mary - as you can see from the picture below it was really a fun day.

Sadly I was diagnosed with lymphoma at the young age of 71/2. Unlike Kir the chemo did not work for me even though I fought as hard as I could. I did have a few good final days where I could enjoy my walks and car rides with my family. Then in 3 short weeks I lost my battle with this awful disease - I died with my family holding me. I know they really miss me.
