Acting Links
I hate to tell ya, but there aren't a whole heck of a lot of resources on the net that are all that helpful
for actors. But, I took a bunch of time and went through a bunch of links to find the things that
I think are most helpful -- and here they are! This is only a partial listing of links. More to come soon! Acting Resources @ Caryn.com -- Some interesting stuff on this site, particularly under the "Auditions & Casting" link. Actors' Equity Association -- The home page for the professional stage actors union. The Complete Works of William Shakespeare -- This site requires no introduction. Dictionary.com -- A most invaluable tool for the actor. Has both dictionary and thesaurus options. Doollee.com -- Lists information on over 30,000 plays produced or published in English since 1956 and provides details on over 9,000 Playwrights, with links to agents, theatres, bookstores, and other theatre resources. The Screen Actors Guild -- The home page for the professional film actors union. TheatreGroup Method Acting Procedures -- Provides good descriptions of numerous Method acting procedures, including sense memory, substitution, and the "magic if." Voice Acting 101 -- This one surprised me -- a very interesting, realistic, informative article about voice acting.
