This is me bitching about things that shouldn't have happened to my friends, family or I due to others being small brained wipers of other peoples bottoms.
So let's begin shall we.
E-Mail issues
Oh... my... GOD... If you send this e-mail to 200 of your friends - $5 will be given
to somebody, somehow, for some reason. Nobody can track this e-mail in order to see
if you REALLY sent it to 200 of your closest friends but what the heck. IT MUST BE TRUE.
Why? Because it says so - that's why.
Before you send me something like this, PLEASE do the research. Go to one (or all) of these sites:
Internet Hoaxes, Email Rumors and Urban Legends: Snopes and UrbanLegends.
and see if this is true. If it is true - send it to somebody else anyway. I still don't want it. I'm barely able to read all my stinking e-mail as it is without more crap added to the load. If you STILL want to send me this junk, I'll send you a copy of this text file so you can get a better understanding of my feelings about (what I call), junk e-mail.
A simple rule of thumb: If it's funny or technical stuff, then send it. Otherwise...
Bonus issues with Lucent and/or Avaya
Here's a good one. While working for Lucent, our group was one of two (from my understanding)
groups in the entire company who meet there numbers. Because of our outstanding abilities,
Lucent was going to give us a bonus. Per internal Lucent documents, you had to be an employee
in the specific group on September 12, 2000 - 11:59 pm. That's the date/time of the current
year end for their books. Note that the docs DID NOT say you had to work for "x" amount of
time, etc. in order to receive this bonus. Just be in the group by that time.
So, 21 people including myself, per Lucent HR, met these requirements. But... our little group was "moved" to Avaya when Lucent split up the company. That was September 13, 2000 - 12:00 am. All the other folks in the group who "stayed" with Lucent, did indeed get there bonus.
The plot thickens.....
Per Lucent HR, Lucent "gave" the bonus money to Avaya in order for Avaya to pay us. All due to the move you understand. Sounds like a shell game doesn't it. But wait, it gets better.
Avaya, of course, has no record of the money destined for us. Oh, they looked and looked. Avaya HR just couldn't bring themselves to CALL Lucent to see what in the world was going on. At least that's what Avaya HR told me.
I'm sure you guessed by now that Lucent HR now wants nothing to do with this issue. It's an Avaya issue. Lucent WILL NOT show ANY proof that they indeed sent ANY money to Avaya for this issue. Avaya on the other hand would really like to get to the bottom of the issue but can't get off their dead ass to contact Lucent. "We have no indication of any money sent to us concerning this issue. You need to get Lucent to do their work" says Avaya HR.
By the way, my supervisor at the time (who threatened to kill three fellow employees and myself [AT THE SAME TIME] if we talked about him to his supervisors) did absolutely nothing to help even though he was apprized throughout this process.
Oh yeah! Avaya upper management was eventually told about this goof of a supervisor. In their infinite wisdom they decided to keep his review info and laid off some of the threatened people. You would think they would have re-reviewed EVERYBODY due to this knuckleheads inability to manage.
National Consulting Group AKA: National Integrators, Inc
After they did the usual - work for us because we're great and we'll do you right - speech,
they went ahead and did me by bouncing one of my paychecks. They don't have auto deposit for
pay checks which should have told me something right there. They will promise to take your
check to you but cancel on you. At the same time tell you if you want your check, then you
have to come to there office and they'll tape the LIVE check to the outside door so you can
finally get it. That assumes nobody steals the stinking thing off the door. They were late
a number of times getting my check to me as well. A real class act.
Computer Task Group (CTG)
I was working at a customer site and was told that CTG will pay for mileage. After repeatedly
asking CTG management for clarification, I decided to simply add the info on my time sheet.
That's how it was normally done. Unfortunately, I submitted in January the time sheet for
the mileage driven in the previous year.
Oops! "The books are closed so we can't pay you for your travel." And no, they refused to pay ANY mileage for the current year as well, while others got the mileage. And yes, they DID say I was eligible for mileage reimbursement.
One last thing. They decided to change my time sheets without telling me. Nice bunch of people.
Doctors
"I am GOD and you're not." Why do doctors come off like this? They rarely listen
to what you have to say. Yes, I know. Some are pretty good. Others are a sham like the guy
who totally messed up my wife. But thanks to the Florida legislators who enacted a two
year limit on law suits against doctors, we can't do anything about it. Except complain
about it here. Now what was that guy's name again... oh yes, his name is:
Dr. Mastery, OBGYN
St. Petersburg, FL.
Other Stuff
Ok, so I really don't have that much else to complain about. I'm sure something
will come up.
