Presents!
That's what Annie likes best about birthdays.
She likes cards, too, especially when they come with presents.
Big Owl, alerted by Kathie, makes an attempt
to discover if Annie's hair really is longer on one side than the other.
As Big Owl looks on proudly,
Annie opens yet another present.
Cookies from Jeff!
(Jeff makes the best cookies in the universe.)
Christopher, turned on by the sight and smell of Jeff's cookies,
makes an attempt to wrestle the cookies to the ground,
and has to be forcibly restrained.
Miss Betsy, still basking in the glow of her all-natural hair,
makes an offer that Big Owl can't refuse.
As Annie looks on with her bright red devil eyes,
Donna rescues one of Annie's presents,
which Big Owl was selfishly trying to make off with.
Kathie signs the Arlington check,
which Jeff has cleverly inflated to several times its actual value.
Ha ha, the joke is on Kathie!
In another inspired bit of birthday fun,
Big Owl and Kathie present the keys to Annie's supposed "new car."
Ha ha, the joke's on Annie this time!
Here is a family portrait, with Big Owl and Kathie,
along with all three children and two significant others.

The next day, Annie and Big Owl slip off to BJ's for a quick game of pool.
Big Owl is better than Annie, but not for long.
Before going to the airport to catch her plane back to Orlando,
Annie visits Christopher in his new apartment.
Naturally, she must say goodby to Thumper.
Thumper is sad because Annie is leaving.
So is Big Owl.
So is Kathie
But she will be back for Thanksgiving!
Maybe there will be another party!
If so, it will be a surprise!
