It's hard to believe, but it has been one year
since Christopher officially became a UK wildcat.
In honor of the occasion,
Kathie decided to give him yet another big birthday bash.
Christopher requested French food,
so Kathie pulled out all the stops:
crudités, French onion soup, coq au vin, and gateau-fromage.
Carrie was there, and so was Jeff.
And of course, Betsy and Susan.
The cat had to go into his pet carrier again.
He didn't like it.
Betsy loves the crudités.
Everybody else had to wait.
Still waiting.
Betsy isn't finished yet.
To pass the time while waiting for the crudités,
Jeff begins the following course—soupe à l'oignon gratinée.
To pass the time while waiting for crudités and onion soup,
Chris talks to Annie on the phone.
Annie tried to sing happy birthday in French,
but succumbed to an attack of the giggles.
To pass the time while waiting for Annie to stop giggling,
Kathie and Betsy complimented each other on their
excellent taste in flip-flops.
To pass the time while waiting for the main course,
Christopher again attempts to deal with Annie's giggling.
To pass the time while waiting for dessert,
Susan decides to play a solitary game of
"Sex and the City."
("Take a card. Any card.")
To pass the time while waiting for Betsy to make coffee,
Kathie explains that size doesn't really matter any more.
As usual, Azzie had to wait until all guests had left
before he could get out of the pet carrier.
He passed the time while waiting by attempting
to take care of a bird out on the balcony.
He didn't even know it was Christopher's birthday,
and he couldn't care less about French food.
Maybe next year.
