Kathie gives a doggie shower
for Mary
The thing was, nobody had ever given a baby shower for a dog
before.
But Mary was having a baby (dog),
and Kathie wanted to celebrate.
So she decided to give a baby shower for Mary and her dog.
It was a really big deal.
Mary arrived for the shower, and her attitude was,
"I mean business. This is a big deal"
Kathie spent a full three days and nights in advance
preparing food and drink for the big party.
It isn't every day that someone has a baby dog.
No one was happier for Mary than Betsy.
Betsy was also happy to have her picture taken.
Mitzi and Ann Kelly were also happy for Mary.
They weren't as happy as Betsy over having their picture taken, however.
Arlene, Mary, and Allie were happy to smile for the camera.
After all, it was a really big deal to have a shower for a dog.
Big Owl asked Betsy to pose for a picture,
since this was a special occasion
(and a really big deal).
Mary reacts to Kathie's claim that,
when it comes to dogs,
size really does matter.
It's a big deal.
Mary begins the festivities by serving the first glass
of the ceremonial "Yorkshire" punch.
Susan explains to Betsy and Eddie
that she may or may not want to take their picture.
Jean explains to Grace and Nancy that,
when it comes to dogs,
size isn't everything.
As the serious eating and drinking began in earnest,
Big Owl retreated to the top of the stairs.
Susan took his picture as Betsy waved goodby.
Janet watched from a safe distance
as the serious card-reading and present-opening began.
This was a really big deal.
Mary displays special gift.
Just look at that pile of presents!
What a big deal!
Arlene smiles, but Allie cannot contain her hilarity
as Mary wonders, "What on earth is it?"
Arlene, Mary, and Allie all relax and catch their breath
after the excitement begins to die down.
What a big deal it was!
After the guests have left,
"Mama's kitty boy" wonders why anyone should make such a fuss
over a dog...
