The thing was, Kathie invited Betsy and Susan
to come over and taste a real New York egg cream.
But before each person was allowed in the house,
he/she had to identify one or more state birds.
This is because Big Owl and Kathie
have recently become interested
in state birds.
Susan correctly identified the cardinal
as the state bird of Kentucky.
Kathie wasted no time in getting an egg cream into everyone's hands.
Robbie thought they were cool.
Susan thought they were neat.
Betsy didn't like hers.
Betsy is from Richmond, not New York.
Kathie's idea for this dinner was to have New York diner-style food.
Kathie is from Kentucky, but she saw a TV program about New York food.
The main course was Johnny Marzetti.
Susan thought the Johnny Marzetti was great.
Betsy is from Richmond.
Dessert was blueberry-coconut cake with lemon sauce.
Everybody loved it, especially Betsy and Robbie.
