What is SCOR ?
(Specialized Coronary Outpatient Rehabilitation)
SCOR is composed of people from all walks of life with various health conditions, ranging from open heart surgery patients to those with a keen interest in staying fit. While several of our members have serious health conditions, many are very healthy and use the exercise gained from cycling to remain healthy.
We have weekly scheduled rides and often have several unscheduled rides during the week. Our members are active people with an interest in their own health as well as others.
For the last 25 years we have put on the Solvang Century, a 100 mile bike ride through the countryside near Solvang. This is a very popular event and attracts as many as 6,000 riders annually.
We sponsor children with heart related problems to summer camp at Camp Del Corazon on Catalina Island, Camp Bon Couer in Louisiana and Camp Taylor in Northern California.
In past years we have sponsored a relay team in the annual RAAM cross-country race. The 1996 team had 4 members all over 60 years of age. In 1998, our RAAM Team was a 70+ Team and WON the Grand Masters Division.
