Ace Flying Club of Endicott, Inc.
Club-Approved Instructor Process
Before instructing our members in our airplane, a CFI must secure
permission from our Board of Directors to do so. We call this
permission process "becoming Club-approved".
To become Club-approved, the CFI must:
- Affirm in writing that he or the flight school employing
him will provide CFI insurance that covers him while he conducts
flight instruction for our member in our airplane;
- Receive a briefing from a Club
Director over our Club By-Laws and Operating Procedures;
- Be voted into Club-approved status by a majority of our
Board of Directors.
The briefing is pretty simple:
- It covers basic aspects of how our club operates, to the extent a CFI
instructing our member needs to know them.
- It lists the privileges a Club-approved CFI
has with respect to operation of our airplane.
- It details the currency requirements a Club-approved CFI must meet
whenever he actually conducts flight instruction in our airplane.
- It explains the check rides a Club-approved CFI can expect to administer
to our members.
The Board vote occurs after the Club receives the insurance affirmation and
conducts the briefing.
Club-approved status expires six months after the
last time the CFI instructs in our airplane.
The renewal process is exactly
the same as the initial application process.
That's all there is to it.
