Club Operating Procedures require each club-approved CFI to provide a member with an endorsement whenever said member successfully completes a checkout.
The endorsement helps the club satisfy insurance requirements. In particular, the endorsement provides the written evidence the Club needs to show the insurance company that a checkout was completed, in the event there is an airplane loss.
Though it was club practice for a long time for the CFI to put the endorsement on the airplane tachometer log, we need to move away from this. The reason is that endorsements on the tachometer log are subject to loss, just like the airplane is. If we lose a new member and the airplane, we likely lose the endorsement, too.
The form below satisfies the endorsement requirement. To use it, just print it, fill it out, and mail it to the Secretary-Treasurer.
