Ace Flying Club of Endicott, Inc.
Insurance Notes

Basics

The club maintains liability and hull insurance that protects the Club itself and the member using the airplane, provided the airplane is operated within the limits of the policy.

Largely speaking, operating within the limits of the policy means the member must be current for the trip -- medical, BFR, and whatever else is required -- and the airplane must be operated within the FARs.

As a club member you are responsible for operating the airplane in a manner that the insurance is in force.

Members may inspect the policy on request.

Flying Club Insurance vs. Named Pilot Insurance

Depending on the number of active members and other factors, the Secretary-Treasurer will at his discretion switch the club back and forth between these two kinds of insurance:

Our club changes back and forth between these two kinds of insurance according to the number of active members and according to other factors.

Paperwork

To let the Secretary-Treasurer change between types of insurance at will, every club active member is required to update his Avemco Pilot Information Form every year. Send your updated form to the Secretary-Treasurer each February. The insurance renewal process starts in March each year.
