Ace Flying Club of Endicott, Inc.
Internet-based Scheduling

Briefing

Effective September 13, 2004 Ace Flying Club will no longer use a pencil-and-paper appointment book for making airplane reservations. Instead, we will use an Internet-based aircraft scheduling system. The Board has contracted with the company FlightSchedulePro to provide our club with Internet-based aircraft scheduling.

With Internet-based scheduling (also known as online scheduling), a club pilot makes aircraft reservations by using a web browser on any Internet-connected computer. Club pilots can also access the scheduling system via telephone. Both kinds of access are available 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

The FlightSchedulePro system has many more functions than just reserving the airplane. Club pilots have access to a bulletin board system where they can conduct an online dialogue with other pilots in our club. The scheduling system also contains a telephone number and e-mail address directory of our pilots. There are other functions, too, including an extensive help system that explains how to use the scheduler.

To get started using FlightSchedulePro (aka FSP), a club pilot first uses his web browser to request an FSP user ID and password. Requesting a user ID takes just a few minutes. Once the request is approved, the club pilot can use his web browser to log on to FSP. Once logged on, he can view the airplane's schedule, reserve the airplane, report squawks, use the bulletin board system, look at the club telephone directory, and so on.

Migration Plan

Effective immediately, club pilots can register for an FSP user ID by visiting www.flightschedulepro.com. (Pilots reading this document online can click on this link to be taken directly to the FSP registration page.)

The paper reservation book at Goodrich Aviation continues to be our governing schedule document through September 12. Pilots making reservations for flights to be taken on or before September 12 should continue to use the paper scheduling book. Goodrich Aviation will continue to help with aircraft scheduling (by taking reservations over the telephone, for example) through September 12.

Effective immediately, Goodrich Aviation will not act as our scheduling agent for flights to be taken on or after September 13. For flights to be taken on or after September 13, members must make their own reservations using FSP.

The pages for September 13 and later have been removed from the paper scheduling book. The reservations our pilots had already recorded on those pages have already been transferred over to FSP.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why are we switching to Internet-based scheduling?
A: Many of our pilots want to use their computers to review the airplane calendar and to make reservations. FlightSchedulePro lets our pilots see and change the airplane's schedule 24 hours a day, every day of the year, from whereever they can find Internet access. Also, we want to offer Goodrich Aviation some relief as regards scheduling our aircraft.

Q: What equipment do I need to use FSP?
A: You need a computer connected to the Internet. Your computer needs to have a modern web browser, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 or Netscape Communicator 7. You also need an e-mail address.

Q: I have an Internet-connected computer and an e-mail address. How do I access FSP?
A: To register to use FSP, visit this link. Once you have registered, use this link to log into the FSP system.

Q: Can I access FSP via telephone?
A: Yes, you can. FSP offers telephone access via a toll-free number. When you call FSP on the telephone, you will be interacting with a computer-driven voice prompt system.

Q: How do I access FSP by telephone?
A: First you must complete the FSP registration process online. Once you have registered, log on to FSP using your web browser. Click on the My Profile link in the lower left of your screen. Then click on the Personal Information link. On the next screen you will find your personalized telephone access information. This information includes the toll-free number to call, your telephone user ID, and your telephone PIN. Call the toll-free number and follow the voice prompts provided.

Q: I do not have an Internet-connected computer. How do I register for FSP?
A: Contact the club secretary for help. He will register you with FSP and provide you with telephone access instructions.

Q: Who in our club is allowed to use FSP to schedule the airplane?
A: Active members in good standing can schedule appointments using FSP. All other members have read-only access to FSP, that is, they can see the schedule but cannot change it.

Q: What if the airplane is down for maintenance?
A: Club Directors are able to use FSP to schedule the airplane for maintenance. When this happens, you will see maintenance appointments on the airplane's schedule. If a reservation of yours becomes preempted by the need to schedule maintenance, you will receive an e-mail stating that your reservation was cancelled.

Q: If I need help with FSP, whom can I contact?
A: There is extensive online help available in FSP. If you don't find what you need in the online help, contact any Club Director for assistance.
