Day 6
This boat we saw in Tenant's Harbor, one of
my innumerable former home towns, has a story.
She was the last boat built by Roy Blaney, the
first Maine wooden boatbuilder I ever knew, for
his retirement. I was sailing with my future wife in
Boston Harbor contemplating whether job upheavals
might result in my moving to Maine. We saw Roy and
his family sailing in past Deer Island Light in "Jenny Ives"
and I knew that I was going to Maine where I've stayed.
Abandoned Lighthouse on Southern Island
off of Tenants Harbor as we sailed away.
