NININGER THE 12TH SPHERE OF MY COLLECTION COMPLETED SEPTEMBER 30, 2007 While surfing eBay I occasionally found auctions for bricks from the American Meteorite Museum &wondered how these people obtained them. I posted a question about the authenticity of such bricks to the Met List & also asked how I could get one. Several members responded to my inquiry, a couple even offered to send me a stone for free, Floyd "Griff" Griffith was one of them. After explaining the requirements needed to make a 50mm sphere he found one that would work and sent it to me for the cost of shipping, which I thought was very generous of him. Once I received it, I cut it down and sent it to John at The Rare Earth Trading Company . He had no problem making it into a sphere & although it looks kind of bland it still has a lot of nostalgic value to me. Floyd was interested in some material I had for sale but didn't ask for any price concessions, even though he gave me a Nininger Brick. Once he select a piece from my For Sale Pages I offered it to him minus my half of the profits. He accepted and was very appreciative. Griff is a true asset to the community. |
