Beginning in 1993, I began annual trips to the canyon country of southern Utah and northern Arizona to photograph in one of the most spectacular areas of the United States. I have visited Zion, Bryce, Canyonlands, Arches, Capitol Reef, and Grand Canyon National Parks. Using Bureau of Land Management (BLM) maps to navigate, I rent a four wheel drive vehicle, and just drive down dirt roads to see what I can find. I have visited state parks in the area and have traveled throughout the Navajo nation and numerous national forests. I sleep in a tent and live out of the vehicle for up two weeks at a time and experience the true majesty of the west in this most magnificent canyon country.
