company. Then, at the Margo Manhattan Gallery, she
was the Production Manager responsible for the
creation of the designer’s jewelry line.
Presently, she
resides in Kansas City, Missouri and has been
teaching metalsmithing courses for several years at
Johnson County Community College and Longview
Community College. In the fall 2006, Ms. Pener
taught metalsmithing courses at Kansas State

Sydney Pener
maintains an art studio and creates one-of-a-kind
metal works and commissioned works. Her artwork
focuses on interaction and storytelling. Her
creations of visual narratives are linked to the
unique symbolic language personalized by
experiences, memories and the power of objects to
define who we are. Objects are heavily embedded
with social, cultural and emotional material which
shape our lives and reveal basic truths. These
conceptual themes are married with the use of metal
and a diversity of metalsmithing techniques, thus
creating refined, hand-crafted forms. |
