Fred Kokaska – Vocals and Guitar

Co-founded the band with Scott Blinn and Dave Clark in 1988.  Has performed in more dive-bars than ‘God’s got possums!’  Musical heros: Billy Gibbons, Eric Clapton, Albert “The Master of the Telecaster, The Ice Man” Collins.

 

Mike Harvey – Bass Guitar

Answered our Reader Ad in 1988 that changed his life forever.  Musical heros: Ozzie, Phil Rudd.

 

Brendan Kremer – Drums

Weaseled his way into the band in 1998 by patiently waiting on the sidelines until all the other drummers had either been fired or died.  Musical heros: Bun E Carlos, Martin Chambers, and Country Dick Montana.

 

Brennen “BRO-Jam” Orndorff – Vocals, Guitar, Slide Guitar

Answered our Reader Ad in the summer of 2000.  What’s the ‘R’ in BRO stand for?  Rock!  Musical hero: Self

 

Barbara Kokaska – Vocals

Slept (and married) her way into the band in 1993.  Musical heros: Stevie Nicks, Bonnie Raitt

 

Bare Bones Alumni:

 

More than a dozen musicians have been a part of Bare Bones over the past 13 years.  Each has left their mark on the band in their own unique way!  If you are one of these people, please drop us a line!

 

Scott B – Guitar, 1988 – 1993, Founding father, left to form his own band, “Mississippi Mud”.  Go figure!

 

Dave C – Drums, 1988 – 1991, The 3rd founding father of the band.. Moved to Colorado.  Miss you DaveMan!

 

Rick W – Guitar, 1993 – 1997, Replaced Scott B, left to form his own band, “Surf Report”.  Go figure!

 

Mike “Cuzo” – Drums, 1992 – 1994 – Moved back to Massachusetts.  Brrr! Go figure!

 

Jarmo “Jarm-tone” - Drums, 1994 – 1996 – Moved back home to Finland,  Double-Brrr.  Go figure!

 

Bob “K-Bob” – Keyboards and Guitar, 1996 – 1998 – Left to spend more time with the family.. Riiight.

 

Bob “D-Bob”– Drums, 1996 – 1997 – Spontaneously combusted on stage!  Really quite unbelievable.

 

“Spaceman” Robert  – Drums, 1992 – 1994 – None of us can remember why Space left; or under what conditions!

 

Lindsey K – Keyboards, Vocals, 1994 – 1995 – Last seen in Europe.. Missing, presumed OK.

 

Steve K – Guitar, 1992 – 1993 – Got more chicks than the rest of the band combined!  A LOT more.  Go figure!

 

Bruce “Wayne” – Drums, 1992 – Only played 2 gigs with the band, but rocked very steady.

 

“Navy” Dave – Drums, 1991 – The only member of the band to EVER read sheet music!  Probably stationed somewhere in the Middle-East.. Keep your head down Navy Dave!

 

 

Honorary Bare Bones members:

 

“Famous” Steve Denyes – Bass Guitar.  Steve is the only guy we know besides Mike who actually owns and plays a Bass.  He has filled in for Mike several times at the last minute.  However, we could never lure him away from his highly successful and lucrative country-folk singer-songwriter gig.

 

Dave U – Drums.  Dave plays with “The Tiki Torchers” but has filled in many times with Bare Bones.  He’s a top-notch drummer.  We appreciate it Dave!

 

Tyler Buckley – Drums.  One of the best “pick-up” drummers in San Diego, Tyler has played with EVERYONE.  Only guy we’ve seen who can play drums and blow harp at the same time (without one of those neck-mount gizmos)!  Plus, he can also harmonize above Barb, who is a Soprano.  Multi-talented!

 

Jay Porter – Vocals.  Jay has his own jazz band, but he often can be seen crooning a tune with the Bones.  Especially one of the songs he wrote!
