A Trucker's Night Before Christmas

This is in honor of my Mom.. who is the best trucker out there!!!

The week before Christmas and all down the road,
The trucks were a-rollin' to deliver their loads.

The truckers hauled everything from gorceries to toys,
To deliver to the stores for good girls and boys.

the CB did crackle and voices filled the air,
With warm season's greetings and warnings to bear.

All across the land the people did sleep,
While truckers keep rollin' through ice, snow and sleet.

They're pushing delivery, the freight must arrive,
They're the backbone of our country, necessary to survive.

When the trailer is empty, they'll get on the phone,
And check with their dispatch about heading for home.

The family will greet them with hugs and with smiles,
you know it's for them that they roll all those miles.

Enjoy your time off with those that you love,
And take time to remember that gift from above.

Let's stop while we're at it to offer a prayer,
For the one's that didn't make it, that didn't get there.

Remember the children, remember the wife,
Of the trucker who sacrificed even his life.

We can be proud of this job that we do,
This country depends on me and on you.

So, friends, have a safe one as I roll out of sight,

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL AND TO ALL A GOODNIGHT!
