Fiji Earthquake

This earthquake comes from Fiji on December 9, 2007. It is a 7.8 magnitude earthquake. The earthquake was located in a remote area and no damage or casualties were reported. The focus of this earthquake was 149 km below the surface.

Martinique Earthquake

This record is from the November 29th, 2007 7.4 magnitude earthquake in Martinique.

 

Chili Earthquake

This record is from the November 15, 2007 6.8 Magnitude Earthquake in Chili. Notice how the first waves arrive a 15:53. This is 50 minutes after the earthquake started in Chili. The first waves are P waves. The surface waves show up about 30 minutes later and continue to shake our seismograph for the next hour.

 

 

San Jose and the Mariana Island

The first earthquake shown here is from the October 31st, 2007 earthquake near San Jose. This was a 5.6 magnitude earthquake. It looks much bigger than the second earthquake because it is much closer. The second earthquake, just 30 minutes later, is from the Mariana Islands. This earthquake was much stronger with a 7.2 magnitude.
