Forensic analysis of whiskey
Linear discriminant analysis
- Seeks to determine the hyperplanes that separate the natural categories.
- Stepwise discriminant analysis iterates in a stepwise fashion to use fewer variables.
- A good solution is found using only two of seventeen variables.
- Feature 1 - acetaldehyde
- Feature 9 - isoamyl alcohol
The goals of the analysis (quick, simple and easy) have now been met.
