The possible naturalization papers for James CORCORAN found in the Monroe County Clerk's Office in Rochester, NY cite his birthdate different from the date suggested on his death certificate. He lists it as Dec. 22, 1844

James CORCORAN is cited in the 1870 Federal census as 27 years old.  James and Margaret are listed on the 1870 Federal census (microfilm roll M593/970) the listing is on line 37 on page 53B as follows:
Dwelling 844, Family Visitation No. 829, Jas Corcoran, Age27, Male, White, Occupation-BoilerMaker, Value of Real Estate-800, Value of Personal Estate, 100, Place of Birth-Ireland, Father of Foreign Birth is Checked, Mother of Foreign Birth is Checked, Male Citizen over 21 yrs. of age is Checked.   On the same page of the 1870 Federal census on the next line # 38 is:
Margaret Corcoran, Age-25, Female, White, Occupation-Keeping House, Place of Birth-Ireland, Father of Foreign Birth is Checked, Mother of Foreign Birth is Checked, Nothing else is checked or marked. They are the only 2 people living in the household.

On page 8 of the 1880 Federal Census for Rochester (Enumeration Dist#93) Roll 863, Line 23 is the listing for James, Margaret and their 5 children: John, Mary E., James, Edward & Richard. This census shows them living at 23 Thompson St. in Rochester in 1880. There is a 75 year old 'Border' living in their household. Her name is very hard to read, but looks like 'Morgan Ormond'
