FORMS FOR RECORDING GENEALOGICAL INFORMATION
It is important to teach the patron to keep a paper "hardcopy" of genealogical records as a backup, so they can use them when no computer is available, or when they want to make scrapbooks to show their guests. Forms can also be great ways to collect data at family reunions. You can pass them out and let the relatives fill them at your direction. Click on chart names below for detailed information on use, or on download links to get free forms to print out.
Keep the information for one family in one place, one generation at a time. Encourage your patrons to keep track of their research in an orderly manner, to avoid costly time delays and duplications. Ancestry.com and mfcreative.com offer free forms for you to use at the urls below:
The United States Census and the UK Censuses were taken every ten years. Different information was asked for at each census. These forms help patrons record all their census data. Ancestry.com also has these free forms available for download. This page updated July 20, 2009 |
