She looks at you and ponders for a moment. "Well, I really couldn't answer that. I mean I don't really think it's my place to judge someone else's work. I wouldn't want to take the responsibility of having you read it because I told you it was a quote 'good book' unquote and then you'd find it wasn't really relevant to your personal needs. Reading is a very personal experience. I can tell you that I personally find this book of value, but that may not have anything to do with you."
"That's very interesting," you say, not because you thought it was but because she so obviously thought so. "Could I ask what the book's about?"
"Yes."
"What's the book about."
"It's a book by Shirley MacLaine about the making of the movie about the writing of the book about the making of the movie from her book Out on a Limb. You see, she's into giving a very comprehensive view of her life. I think that's good. At least my perception of myself is that I think that's good. I think, or at least think I think that we must explore every corner of our lives to come to any real sort of understanding of the cosmos."
"Oh," you say.
If you have to listen to much more of this drivel you will go out of your mind. Of course you might be willing to listen to more if you thought she'd sleep with you. You have two choices.
