Zen hike, meditation, talk, and discussion at Mission Trails. This event is designed especially for those new to Zen meditation, with lots of attention given to proper sitting and walking meditation techniques.
When: Sunday 3 January 2010, 9 AM until around noon.
Where: Mission Trails Regional Park. We will meet near the bulletin board at the Southwest corner of the intersection of Bushy Hill Drive and Father Junipero Serra Trail, Santee, CA 92071.
Registration: Although this event is free of charge, registration is required. To register, send an email to sam_gabriel@yahoo.com by Thursday 31 December 2009. I will reply with a confirmation email.

What to bring:
- Appropriate footwear. Hiking shoes with good traction.
- Water bottle.
- Hat.
- Sun-protective clothing and/or sunscreen.
- Warm clothes.
- Something to sit on. We will be sitting on rocky outcrops, grass, or sandy soil. A beach towel makes a good sitting mat. A stuff sack containing a fleece jacket makes a good sitting cushion—add a partially-inflated beach ball for more loft.
Hiking distance: about 2 miles total.
