44th Infantry Division Christmas card

This card was sent home by Waldo Bush, 2nd Platoon machinegunner, Co. D, to his mother.
Dear mother,
Just a few lines to let you know I am OK. I sent you a part of a German flag and some money so let me know when you get them. Yesterday I seen a German airplane shot down, I got the flyers wings and his belt buckle so when I get a chance I will send them. I sent Soney some German money - he will have a grand time showing it off to the kids at school. When you go to Toledo tell everybody I said hello. Well by the time you get this letter there should be something in the paper about the 44th Division, we sure had the Germans on the run. Here I have been on the front lines for over a month, and I haven't fired a shot. I have seen a lot of them but they were to far away. Well I will have to close for now so write real soon.
Your Son Waldo
