Gathering Dust

It's totally unfair not acknowledging just about every track off of this CD. So many of these songs were favorites long before this CD went to print and it's GREAT having them on my CD player. It's a pretty cool thing to hear a new song and have it bring back good memories and sometimes even a bit of comfort. Guess that's the beauty of rare and unreleased......

The King & The Queen   "In a garden seeded on poison land a flower struggles to grow"

This song is classic Kyle Vincent.

Lyrically weaving a story and painting a picture while melodically making you unable to stop listening. From the first time I heard this one I was taken by the lyrical metaphors within it. This is one of those songs that Kyle did such an amazing job polishing in the studio but shines just as bright acoustically live.

Jonesin' For Zilah   "I’d pick her up after work we’d go for a drive Her caramel candy body next to mine"

What a cool song! I love everything about it but there's something about this particular lyric that hits me every time I hear it. Just a great lyric!

I Don't Wanna Know "See the old man holding his lady’s hand As they’re walking There’s a story there Of a love so rare never ending" * * * "In the sidewalk a heart still remains Where once a promise was made"

There's a sweetness to this song that's just very special. And I love the way Kyle takes those names in the sidewalk full circle......

Maybe It's Better This Way   "Hold me close One last time And for this moment Let us leave our weapons behind "

The studio version of this song is on A Night Like This but the last 3 tracks on this CD are live, taken from Kyle's summer tour opening for Barry Manilow. And every time I hear these tracks I smile just at the memory of those shows and the response and most especially, of the amazing things he's done since!
