"…Howard Levy is a
revelation; there are times when it is
hard to believe he is playing only a harmonica, for he has the
expressive range
and depth of a saxophonist." ---
Geoff
Dyer,
The London Observer
This is jazz harmonia like you have never heard it before! There is no
one out
there doing what Howard is
doing.
Levy's reputation as an
original artist has been developed over the years through his
association with
Bela Fleck, Kenny Loggins, Bobby McFerrin, Paul Simon, John Prine, and
Paquito
D'Rivera amongst many others. He has performed in Europe with the
Bavarian
State Radio Orchestra in Munich and won a Grammy in 1997.
Howard's highly creative
approach lends itself to exploring many musical avenues and his
exceptional
chromatic technique on the diatonic harmonica places him at the top of
the jazz
food chain. His trio includes Dane Richeson on drums and Mark
Urness on
bass.
