The Seton Catholic Middle School Jazz Band

Seton Catholic Middle School

The Seton Catholic Middle School Jazz Band has gained the reputation of being among the elite student jazz bands in the area. The band has appeared as the clinic band for the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra at the Weidner Center in Green Bay as well as being the opening act for the Neenah Jazz Festival and the Fox Jazz Festival for the past ten years. They've had appearances at Seafood Fest, sponsored by the local Rotary Club. They have also been the featured performers at the Community Soupster, an annual fundraiser held at Roosevelt School. A solid ensemble, the band also possesses a number of outstanding young improvisors as well.

Each April the Seton Catholic Middle School Jazz Band celebrates Jazz Appreciation Month (JAM) by gifting the community with a FREE concert (free-will offering accepted; the proceeds help to sponsor scholarships to summer jazz camps for band members.)

Special guests at these concerts have included vocalist Janet Planet, guitarist Tom Theabo, pianist/composer John Harmon  and the Big Band Reunion. This year's 13th annual JAM concert took place on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 and had as guest artists  the Mohawk Avenue Band.
