Dan Sullivan

I currently live in Orlando, Florida with my wife Pam and son Daniel. If you find any research connections in my database or have questions about Sullivan(t) genealogy, please send me an e-mail message. Also email me for information on the Sullivan email mailing list or follow the link to http://www.rootsweb.com/~maillist/surnames/index.html<. Just click the mailbox icon on the home page to send email to me.  As a last resort you can snail mail me at:

Dan Sullivan, 1619 Carillon Park Drive, Oviedo, FL, 32765-5128.

Currently a lot of my time is spent researching Isaac Sullivant who is my ggggrandfather. Shown below is his signature from a document he signed around 1832. Click on the signature for more information on Isaac.

The genealogy database programs I currently use is Family Tree Maker for Windows. Genealogy files called GEDCOM files generated from these programs are available from me on request and I've also uploaded a version to Roots Web's WorldConnect site. The link is: Dan Sullivan's database. You can download a version of my GEDCOM from this site. Its has been cleaned to delete references to anyone living.

I have additional information on other Sullivants and some related and direct lines. If you see a surname or related family that you are interested in, please send me an email as I may have more information.

I have not connected the Sullivans in Duplin/Sampson County, NC (DNA data indicates there is no connection) or Sullivants in Charlotte County, VA with the Sullivants in Anson or Halifax. Caleb Sullivant from Duplin County, NC, was in Anson for a while. There is a deed record in Anson, 1795, where Caleb Sullivent sells land to Edward Jackson. In 1807, my ancestor, Isaac Sullivant starts buying and selling land in Anson. But there is no record that they knew  each other that I have found.

My current theory is that Isaac Sullivant's parents were Charles and Rachel Sullivant of Brunswick County, VA and Warren County, NC. See my paper,
Proposed Parents of Isaac Sullivant for more details.  DNA data indicates the other Sullivan(t)s in Halifax County that are listed in the early Halifax deeds (pre-1800) are not related to my Isaac Sullivant line.

I am still monitoring the DNA data base to see if there is a Charlotte County Sullivant connection to the Isaac Sullivant line.  We are still waiting for a Sullivant of the Charlotte County line to be tested.

I have found one Sullivan relative through DNA testing. However, to date we have not connected our lines.  I am doing some limited research to find the connection.
