“Hot spot!”

Dean yelled and Sam was right behind him.

“Where’s this lead to?” Dean barked, not waiting long enough, grabbing the flashlight Sam held. Shining it over the crumbling brick, not long enough to notice anything, Sam yanked it back, using it to scan the map.

“Umm…” His brow crinkled in confusion as his brown eyes raced across the musty paper. Searching, finding nothing.

“Let me look.” Pulling the map closer to him, Dean scanned through where they started to where they were now. “Uh, Sam?”

“Yep.” Sam concluded for him, nodding. “It’s not on here.”

Dean twisted Sam’s hand to the right, shining the light again towards the brick, crumbling mortar. Holding the EMF up, it squealed again. “Something’s back there.”

“Maybe it’s to one of the old buildings they tore down?” Sam tried to offer.

“This map is from before any demolition. It would be on here.” Dean now took the flashlight, illuminating the bottom of the brick wall. The ground had a larger pile of sediment than the rest of the floor and what appeared to be a light stain coming from underneath.

“Plumbing?” Sam asked, noticing the stain.

“Let’s hope so.” Dean stated. The lights flickered. “Come on.”

The walk through the rest of the tunnel was brisk. The lights were no longer consistent, the battery in the flashlight seeming to fail. They finally reached the fire doors and Dean shuddered a moment, looking back over the bit of tunnel he could still clearly see.

“I see now why they’re remodeling.”
