I
began obedience training with my first Sheltie, Tawny,
primarily
because I needed to learn how to teach her some manners. That was in
1986! She was a very smart dog and did very well in her basic obedience
class, so much so that I became hooked on the sport! She went
on
to earn her AKC UD and her CKC OTCH in Canada.
I bought my second
Sheltie, Stormy,
for the purpose of being able to show him in brace with Tawny. That
never happened but he ultimately earned his AKC UD.
Not only was I hooked
on obedience
but I became hooked on the sheltie and I entered into the world of
breeding. Whimsey, from my first litter,
went on to earn her
UD
with multiple High in Trials along the way plus an MX, MXJ in agility!
Glory,
from Whimsey's
first litter, earned her UD with several career High in Trials plus a
MACH in agility.
Presently I am
training Teddy
who
is very eager to learn and holds a lot of promise. So far, he has
earned his CDX in obedience, his MX and MXJ in agility and his RE
in Rally.
And there is a new kid on the block, a young border collie
named Josh. He is a lot of fun as we are just
starting to teach him some fundamental skills.
