Hand Plane Collection

All of these planes were purchase as collectibles, but I like to use them as well.

This is a Stanley #4.  It has Stanley marked iron and cap, with a Bailey base.  It is my understanding that Stanley purchased the Bailey plants including the molds.  Stanley used the Bailey tooling for a short period of time.

This is a Stanley #80 cabinet scraper.  This model was in production from 1898-1984.  The age is unknown.

This is a Stanley block plane I purchased new when I was starting my woodworking hobby.  It has no number.  It is about 25 years old.

This is a Craftsman smoothing plane.  I am not sure of the age.  It was purchase from a co-worker, who had never used it.  It does have wood handles and is a nice plane.

This is a Stanley # 50 plane with interchangeable cutters.  The kit includes 9 plow, 6 beading, and 1 tongue cutters.  This plane works very well when setup correctly.  This plane with the ebony handle was produced about the 1950s.

This is a Stanley #78 filletster rabbet plane.  This version went into production around 1925.  The age of this one is not known.

This is a Staney #151 spoke shave.  I purchased it new about 25 years ago.

This is a Craftsman jack plane.  It was given to me by a friend of my father who was sorting through tools from his fathers estate.  It has composite handles.  I have had it about 30 years.

These are some solid wood profile planes purchased at flea markets.
