Welcome
to our farm, located in scenic Morgan County on the river bank of
the historic Muskingum River, in southeastern Ohio between Zanesville
and Marietta. The area is famous for its Appalachia style of life,
and the ruggedness of the terrain. The 170 acre farm was named
"Eagle Bend" in the early 1900's by prior owners due to the
sharp bend in the river and the bald eagles that frequented this
section of the river. Today it is still common to see bald
eagles here in their glory.
Our
history of goats, goes back to 1997, we started with a pygmy goat named
"Pepper" (we lost her this year at the age of 12). We
began breeding Nubians that we showed at our fair. The transition
to meat goats soon followed, as we like the growth rate,
temperament, and strength of the animals. Our transition to the
registered Boers, was due to the fact we wanted better all around
quality, than the traditional unregistered meat/market animal. We enjoy
showing as a family in the ABGA show circuit, and locally at the county
fair as well!
