Shell House - pictured at right (#3 on map)

According to Prisbrey, this structure was built in two days for a son who was dying of cancer. After his death, it became a room for her shell collection. It is adjacent to the north wall of the third pencil house (not shown) and the south wall of the School House. At one time, the front wall was covered with over 300 pinecones. The walls were made out of a variety of bottle colors and types, ranging from medicine bottles to jelly jars. The structure is still in good condition. 90 square ft. (photo b.krieger 1961)
