2006 Senior Recognition

Katie Magee

Katie is both a third-generation swimmer as well as a third-generation member of the Wyoming Swim Club. She began swimming with the Wyoming Swim Club team when she was 7, winning the most-improved swimmer that year. She began swimming for the Powell Crosley YMCA that fall and has continued swimming for both teams. She has also been a member of the Wyoming Middle School Swim team and the Wyoming High School swim team.

While a student at Wyoming High School, she was a member of National Honor Society and participated in Academic Quiz Team and Forum. She won the Teen Character Award from the YMCA and was awarded the highest honor in Girl Scouts, the Girl Scout Gold Award, for leadership and community service.

Katie very much enjoys the outdoors. She has hiked the Appalachian Trail and canoed in the Everglades with Girl Scouts from around the United States. She will be attending The Ohio State University in the fall as a Scholar in the Natural Resources program.
