General Meeting: Comprehensive Land Use Plan and Pie Night

At our General Meeting in April 2008, a total of about 35 people came out to discuss the Town of New Scotland’s Comprehensive Land Use plan to give input and make corrections to the plan compared to when it was written in 1997.

A letter was drafted and sent to the Chairman of the Comprehensive Land Use Committee.

We also enjoyed a variety of pies donated by members of the FBNA and we had 3 lucky winners in our door prize raffle.

Village Clean Up Day

A group of 8 of us met at the church where we enjoyed doughnuts and grabbed our supplies. It only took about 1 ½ hours and were able to clean up the garbage along both sides of route 32 from the church all the way the Railroad Bridge. We collected a total of about 6 bags of garbage.

Town Wide Volunteer Day

A group of 4 of us met at town hall to enjoy a little breakfast and to pick up supplies and meet up with the rest of our crew. We were assigned the Feura Bush Senior Apartments where we did some housecleaning and also planted flowers along the flower beds with flowers donated by Stanton’s Our Family’s Harvest.

Garden Club

Liz Smith and the garden club did a beautiful job on the stone planters as you enter the Feura Bush Town Park. Keep an eye out for other areas because this is only the first of several areas the garden club plans to work on.

Hamlet-Wide Garage Sale

On May 31st, the rain held off long enough to make the sale a big success. A total of 16 homes participated in the sale. The library book sale was a success as well as the church breakfast and lunch. I personally very much enjoyed my ham, egg, and cheese sandwich while I visited some of the sales.

We have already received comments and requests to have a sale again next year.
