LETTER FROM THE CHAIRMAN

FEB. 2, 2010

First let me take this time to say I am very happy we are in a new year and decade the past 16 decades have we tough on Freedmen.  There are sever things in the works.

bullet

This website is one of them.

bullet

Our 990 for the last tax year has been filed and accepted by the IRS

bullet

Plans are being made for a SUMMIT for July of this year. We plan to host a Reception for ALL Freedmen during the NAACP conference.

bullet

We would like heads of organizations (invitation only), Congressional leaders and all active members of FD5CT, Inc. to address only one issue. The Treaties of 1866 ( To operate in compliance with Treaty Obligations Equally and Without Discrimination) to your left you will find a link to our Congressional Resolution those are the only issues to be address.

bullet

It is our belief that until these factions of various entities get on the same page, we will continue to plead to ears that do not hear. In November congress will turn over again and our plight takes yet another step backwards.

bullet

We must tell our own story for no one will ever be able to speak for us.

bullet

Please note I have set up an email address for FD5CT, INC. only, the blackindian@kc.rr.com will cease to be Feb. 4, 2010. I have not changed the address on the resource web site as yet but will do so in the coming weeks. My personal email address will be changing as well however my yahoo address will remain in tact.

bullet

I am still processing applications, mostly for the Chickasaw Freedmen Descendants and will update these names within the next couple of weeks on they have been verified  The Seminole Freedmen Descendants are being audited as there were some that referred to a file that no longer exist and those names must be removed

My prayer is a simple one..That this year is the year we gain Justice. I have seen far too many law suits none speak to the 4 TREATIES and I pray none ever will for CONGRESS is the only entity that that can correct our plight. I will continue to fight for the rights of our ancestors, for that is the purpose. To acknowledge their recognition, acknowledges our own
