All Over West Virginia
August 29 - September 1, 2008
I met up with 2 friends in Buffalo and headed down to West Virginia with the bike in tow to meet up with
some more friends for an amazing weekend of motorcycle riding.
We ended up doing about 800 miles by truck and 1,000 miles by motorcycle. West Virginia is an incredible state - amazing
views at every turn (and there are lots of turns). So many scenic spots where I'd have loved to take pictures, but we
rode right past them. There is some irony in that.
Saturday morning. Somewhere out Rt 50. It was raining and we weren't going fast enough to keep my face shield
clear, so we stopped at this huge country store to let the storm pass.
The water wheel and the old tractors were all there. Wish I
had my DSLR and not just my point-and-shoot, but it did okay.

Sunday morning we headed east. Ended up meeting a bunch of fellow ZZR riders on 33 just
inside Virginia for a day of amazing riding. Check out
this map to see what I'm talking about - follow 33 to the west from the WV/VA line and look at all the
twisty goodness.
This is the meeting spot, on "the bridge". Best I can figure, it is just after the mountain pass, on the VA side:

Off to lunch. This was the most amazing little diner, right around the corner from Seneca Rocks (google that, it's
unbelievable!):

I know the pictures don't really show it, but the roads, the riding, the camaraderie... it was all amazing and
I can't wait to do it again.
