Silver Trowel
Award - Commercial
Bay Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
2353
S. Ridge Road
Green Bay, WI 54304
This garden is
located on the corner of Ridge Road and Willard Drive in Ashwaubenon.
Landscape Artisans Design designed the garden. Grasses are used
throughout the garden to give the flat parking spaces height and to
provide year-round interest. The other perennials used are also
long-lasting tall plants that provide color late into the year. The use
of annuals and planters near the entryway provide a constant splash of
color. A low bed of pachysandra stays green year-round. Sarah Bonnin and
Katie Platten, representing the business, accepted the awards. |

Trowel Award - Residential
Scott Casperson and Perry Sieloff
1247 Emilie Street
Green Bay, WI 54301
This beautiful two-story brick home
has a neat and well-kept appearance to its front yard. Access to the back
is gained via an entryway between a wooden fence and the house and is
decorated with potted plants. The garden starts immediately in the back of
the house, which can be viewed from under a covered patio. Lush plantings
line a pathway, which leads from one garden "oasis" to another, each
area serving as its own outdoor room. Structural features are often color
co-coordinated with the flowers near them and are pleasing to the eye. A
colorful potting shed completes the journey through this masterful garden.

Trowel Award – Institutional
Green Bay Botanical Garden
King Shade Garden
2600 Larsen Road
Green Bay, WI 54303
The King
Shade Garden is a result of a gift from Herb and Gladys King, retired
educators. This peaceful, hosta and shade perennial glen features a
meandering, burbling stream. The garden is entered via a constructed
ruin of a springhouse. Flowering shrubs and trees surround the valley.
Boulder-lined paths give visitors multiple perspectives of the plantings.
Herb and Gladys King accepted the award along with GBBG Board Chairman,
Kathy Hartman. |
