CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS AND BEHAVIORS

As a student, you are expected to do the following:

1.         be on time (in class before the tardy bell rings)
2.         bring necessary materials to class everyday (book, paper, pencil, pen, calculator, etc)
3.         stay in your seat during the entire class
4.         raise your hand to ask for permission to get out of your seat
5.         keep all trash at your desk and throw it away on your way out of the class
6.         do not throw anything in class
7.         raise your hand to ask a question or to answer a question (do not shout things out or interrupt someone else)
8.         do not talk inappropriately, goof off, sleep, waste time, etc during class assignments and activities
9.         start working on an assignment or activity when it is given in class
10.       complete and turn in all assignments and activities by the due date

As a teacher, I am expected to do the following:

1.         present topics in a clear way for students to understand and learn
2.         ask students to answer questions to check their level of comprehension
3.         answer questions that students ask that are relevant to the class discussion
4.         provide an opportunity for students to display their master of topics (HW, quizzes, tests, projects, etc)
5.         use appropriate discipline measures when students do not follow their expectations
6.         help provide a safe and comfortable atmosphere for students to learn

Appropriate Discipline Measures may include, but are not limited to, the following:

1.         verbal or non-verbal correction during the class
2.         teacher-student conference to discuss issues
3.         parent contact to discuss issues
4.         assignment of After-School Detention (ASD)
5.         administrative referrals
