  Pixie is born!
Pixie and Morgan - Click for larger imageThe boys have been asking for a dog for years. We decided to wait until they were old enough to take full responsibility for training, feeding, and everything that goes with it.  When they turned 13 last Christmas, we told them that if they BOTH got straight A's in school, they could get a dog.  They researched various breeds and set their sights on a cute little Frison Brise.  PIXIE arrived in October, just after the first grading period for 8th grade.  The boys are doing fantastic in school this year.  They are also doing a super job at raising Pixie.  You can check out a few movies and pictures at Morgan's web site or at Cayman's web site.

  The boys start football...
Cayman and Morgan - Click for larger imageAfter several years of BMX racing, the boys decided to stop that sport and try football.  We thought if they liked it, it would be good to get the basics under their belts before starting high school next year.  The first few weeks of conditioning were brutal, but they got in great shape!  They were put on separate teams due to their size differences.  Cayman is a lineman and Morgan is a safety.  All was going well until Cayman ended up in the emergency room with a "stinger" that resulted in a scarey neck injury.  A week later he was back at it though.  Within 2 days he took a hit and ended up with a broken leg.  He was out for the season.  Morgan remains healthy and it's a blast watching his games.

  Scuba Diving in Grand Turk!
Pixie and Morgan - Click for larger imageIt was another great family trip.  We did caves, walls and had fantastic night diving.  The boys were incredible...more so than some of the tourists we encountered!  Check out some of the photos at Morgan's web site or at Cayman's web site.

  Road Trip with Mom!
Pixie and Morgan - Click for larger imageDeb left her position with ProfitLine just in time for the boys summer vacation.  Since Tom was off to the far east (Australia, Asia, and India) for 3 weeks, Deb and the boys packed the van and headed out on a camping and fishing road trip.  Our goal was to hit lots of state parks and catch lots of fish.  We camped at each spot for at least two nights and had great times in Yosemite, Sequoia, King's Canyon and Death Valley.  Mom caught the first trout in the Kern River (a nice 14" Rainbow), but Cayman was the overall best fisherman on the trip.  Check out some of the photos at Morgan's web site or at Cayman's web site.

Gibb Family featured in the New York Times
In 2004, Deb was approached by the New York Times to contribute to their technology article "Living The Broadband Life".  Years ago Deb as one of the first consumers to use high-speed Internet service and home networking.  Time Warner considered her one of the country's pioneers in leveraging Internet technologies and referred the New York Times to interview the family.  The boys were key contributors to the story since they've had high-speed Internet access and computers networked at home since the day they were born.  It was interesting to get their perspective since they take technology for granted (much like electricity or the telephone).

What else were Cayman and Morgan Gibb up to in 2004?
BMX Racing comes to an end, a great "road trip" with Mom, Scuba diving in Grand Turk, and Pixie is born!
Check out their 2004 adventures at Morgan's web site or at Cayman's web site.

  Season's Greetings . . . our 2004 Christmas letter.
Click for larger image2004 was a busy year for us. Tom's business travels took him to India, Hong Kong, Australia, and all over the Asia-Pacific territory. Deb left her position with ProfitLine in May, just in time to spend some fun time with the boys when they got out of school for the summer.

Their first summer adventure was a "road trip" where Deb and the boys went camping for nearly three weeks and experienced the incredible National Parks, mountains, rivers and lakes of California. Tom was in the far east so he missed the camping fun, but upon his return, the we all took off for another one of our scuba adventures. This time our destination was Grand Turk. We had spectacular diving, especially at night. The boys are amazing scuba divers and the other tourists were in awe of these outgoing thirteen year olds.

When school started in September, Cayman and Morgan renewed their drive to achieve better grades. We agreed that if they both earned straight A's they would be able to get a dog. Well, as soon as the first grading period came to a close, they proved they could do it. We saw their excellent progress ahead of time so we did some research and already had a breed selected and a breeder lined up. Our little Bichon Frise, Pixie, came home to us in October. She's a joyful addition to our family and a fluffy bundle of fun.

Now that the boys are back in school and our new baby, Pixie, is settling in, Deb has returned to work managing technology operations for CollegeSports TV. Their television network is in New York but their web operations are here in San Diego. They create and manage over 160 college web sites in addition to the television network's main site, www.collegesports.com. Her schedule is much more flexible and she enjoys being home when the boys get out of school.

To keep up to date with our family news and to see photos of our adventures, bookmark our family web site at http://home.roadrunner.com/~gibb/   or go to the boy's web sites at www.caymangibb.com  or   www.morgangibb.com.

Best wishes for a joyful holiday season and a prosperous new year!
