This indenture made this third Day of August in the Year of our Lord Christ MDCCXLIX [1749] Between Jeremiah Parker Reah of the Parish of St. James in the county of Albemarle Black Smith of the one part & Epaphroditus GILLIAM of the Parish of St. Martin's in the county of Louisa planter of the other part
Witnesseth that the said Jeremiah Parker Rich for and in consideration of the sum of Twenty three pounds current money of Virginia to him in hand will & truly paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged
Hath given, granted, bargained, sold, aliened, enfeoffed and confirmed and by these presents
Doth give, grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff & confirm unto the said Epaphroditus GILLIAM & to his heirs & ensigns forever all that tract, seat, parcel of land & plantation of the said Jeremiah Parker Rich, scituate lying and being in the Parish of St. James Northam in the County of Goochland on the branches of Lickinghole Creek & bounded as followeth to wit:
Beginning at William Atkinson's corner pine running hence along his line, south fifth one & a half degrees, east one hundred & one poles to two pines in the said line, hence new lines north thirty six degrees east thirty six poles to pointers hence north thirty two & a half degrees east seventy one poles to a pine at the head of a branch, north seventy fives degrees, west forty poles to pointers south eighty one degrees, west ninety five poles to pointers in the South Atkinson’s line hence along the same south fourteen & a half degrees west twenty seven poles to the first station, containing by estimation fifty acres by the same more or less with all houses, orchards, gardens, fences, woods, underwoods, & all other appurtenances whatsoever to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to have & to hold the said tract, seat, parcel of land & plantation of the said Jeremiah Parker Rich unto the said Epaphroditus GILLIAM and to his heirs, to the only roper use & behoof of the said Epaphroditus GILLIAM, his heirs & assigns forever and the said Jeremiah Parker Rich doth hereby covenant & grant for himself and his heirs and that he will warrant & defend the said land unto the said Epaphroditus GILLIAM and to his heirs & assigns forever.
In witness whereof the said Jeremiah Parker Rich hath hereunto set his hand & seal the day & year above written.

Memorandum that on the day and _______ mentioned quiet and peaceable possession & seizen of the lands within mentioned was made & given by Jeremiah Parker Rich unto Epaphroditus GILLIAM according to the form and effect of the within written deed.

At a court held for Goochland County Aug 15 1749. Jacob Oglesby, Davd McCormack and Andrew Hunter, prov'd this deed with the livery of seizin endorsed to be the acts of Deeds of Jeremiah Parker Reach, which was ordered to be recorded.
