This truck was originally purchased by the Marathon New York Rural Fire District. It was delivered in 1935. It is one of the first Custom apparatus manufactured by Ward LaFrance Truck Corp. of Elmira Heights NY. The unit has a 500 gallon per minute Northern Pump Co. rotary gear two-stage fire pump. The motor is a Waukesha Model 6MZ15P six cylinder gasoline engine, it is coupled to a 3 speed manual transmission. The motor is equipped with a Zenith upwndraft carbureator. It has 12 spark plugs, one per cylinder powered by the distributor, and one powered by the magneto. This apparatus is equipped with a 319 gallon booster tank. This truck is under a frame up restoration.
