This truck was originally purchased by the Hewlett New York Fire Department. It was delivered on December 12, 1950. It is a 700 series Type 7-85-TJO. The unit has a three section 85' American LaFrance hydraulically operated steel aerial ladder. The motor is the American LaFrance "J" series 12 cylinder gasoline engine which develops 215 horse power, it is coupled to a Fuller 4 speed manual transmission. The motor is equipped with dual Zenith downdraft carbureators. It has 24 spark plugs, two per cylinder powered by two distributors. The transmission is a Fuller 4 speed manual.
