This truck was originally purchased by the Village of Homer NY Fire Department. It was delivered in June of 1973. It is an Ambasador model P80-1000D-5 1000 GPM pumper. The unit has a Hale two stage fire pump. The truck is equipped with an onboard 1000 watt inverter which powers two 500 watt floodlights. The truck has a 500 gallon booster tank, two four 1-1/2" mattydale lays, five 2-1/2" discharges, and two 6" side suctions, as well as two side and one rear 2-1/2" auxiliary suctions. The motor is a Detriot Diesel 8V-71N which develops 270 horse power, it also has an Allison HT-740D automatic transmission. This truck was refurbished  in June of 1983 by Saulsbury Fire Equipment Corporation. The apparatus is equipped with 1000 ft of 4" supply hose, two 1-3/4" crosslays, one each rear 1-3/4", 2-1/2 and 3" lays. This truck is equipped as it came out of service from the fire department in 2003.
